The laser positioning system uses two lasers mounted on the jetty which measure a ship’s distance and angle of approach. This information can be displayed on a large LCD panel readable at up to 250m day and night, or it can be relayed by way of wireless devices to pagers, PDAs and ship or shore control screens.
